In this spirit, I think the belonging I am seeking and speaking of within my latest Pride piece is also more of an inner belonging. I think we find belonging within through dancing and swimming—sometimes flailing and thrashing, sometimes gliding and soaring—through relational spaces. As I shared with a friend yesterday, I also define community much more expansively. I’m seeking to connect and exchange with other beings on their journeys of being and becoming queer to better understand my own and perhaps to help them on theirs 🫶🏻
